A Day at Battenfeld Farm

We want your visit to be easy, enjoyable, and full of holiday spirit. Our goal is to make every part of your visit simple and fun. To help you get around, we offer a downloadable map that shows tree varieties, parking areas, and other key spots around the farm. The map includes:

  • Locations of all tree varieties in the fields
  • Designated tailgate parking areas for family picnics and celebrations
  • General parking areas close to the fields
  • The Pay Station for checkout and tree baling
  • The Christmas Shop and Snack Barn
  • The Horse-Drawn Wagon Ride pickup and drop-off area

When to Visit

We are open seven days a week, weather permitting, starting the Monday before Thanksgiving and continuing until trees are sold out. Note that we’re closed on Thanksgiving day.

Typical Hours: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What to Bring

  • Warm layers and sturdy boots for walking in the fields
  • Gloves for handling your tree
  • A hand saw if you’ve got one
  • A blanket or chairs if you plan to tailgate
  • A camera for family photos
  • Holiday spirit!

While You’re Here

  • Hand saws are available for rent or sale (no power saws, please)
  • Tractor rides available to bring your tree back from the field
  • Tailgating is welcome in designated areas; please clean up afterward
  • Friendly dogs are welcome on leash
  • Snack Barn offers hot chocolate and light refreshments
  • Christmas Shop features wreaths, garland, ornaments, and beautifully decorated table-top trees
  • Payments: Cash preferred; credit cards accepted with a small service fee
  • Accessibility: We do our best to accommodate all visitors, though terrain can be uneven

Make It a Tradition

Many families spend the day here—cutting a tree, visiting Santa, enjoying a wagon ride, and relaxing over tailgate snacks or hot chocolate from the Snack Barn. It’s a Hudson Valley tradition filled with warmth, good company, and the simple joy of being together outdoors.
